About The Village
Monarch Way is a 75-acre mixed use development initiative by Old Dominion University. With the University, and its 24,000 students and 2,400 staff and faculty, in addition to the Ted Constant Convocation Center as anchors, The University Village is a destination all its own with restaurants, retail, recreational facilities, hotel, residential, office and research facilities.
Monarch Way provides indoor and outdoor dining with an eclectic collection of restaurants and casual dining establishments. Café tables dot the pedestrian area along Monarch Way and provide a gathering place for ODU students, staff and surrounding neighbors. Two parking decks are conveniently located adjacent to the retail area. The South Parking Deck "C" is located on 43rd Street containing metered parking spaces located on the first floor. Parking Deck "D" is located on 45th Street containing metered parking spaces located on the second floor.
Innovation Research Park
Innovation Research Park @ ODU is a new office park dedicated to research and high tech businesses that complements ODU's growing research capabilities. The first 100,000 SF building opened in 2007, and the second 100,000 SF building in the park opened in 2010.
The Ted Constant Convocation Center
The Ted Constant Convocation Center, with 8,600 fixed seats and 900 additional seats, offers 120 events each year including university basketball games, graduation, concerts, conferences and trade shows. One third of the programming is university related, and the remaining schedule attracts the general public throughout the region.
Baron & Ellin Gordon Art Galleries
The Baron & Ellin Gordon Art Galleries opened in September 2007 housing two adjacent 2600 square foot galleries, one holding the University Gallery (formerly located on 21st street in Ghent), the other presents The Baron & Ellin Gordon Self-Taught Art Gallery which features a permanent display of selections form The Baron & Ellin Gordon Self-Taught Art Collection.
University Theatres
The theatre arts program performs several shows throughout the year at each of the University's theatres located in the University Village. Check out their current season's schedule!

The Barry Art Museum
Old Dominion University has created a new art museum on campus that will become an educational and cultural resource for students, faculty, staff and the Hampton Roads community. Philanthropists Carolyn K. and Richard F. Barry have created the Old Dominion University Museum Foundation which will operate The Barry Art Museum. The 24,000 squarefoot building, featuring a translucent fa!;ade, is designed by the Virginia Beach-based firm Saunders+ Crouse Architects and constructed in partnership with the ODU Real Estate Foundation. This newest Virginia university art museum will debut in the fall of 2018, signifying the University's strong commitment to the arts.
